We`ll bring our fluke 337clamp and fluke 87ddm if you want.

Maybe with one battery the 4kws would be louder, who knows? Sean bought his 4kws... packed them up, sold them... and paid me actual real money for the 1500Ds to replace them as he did better with them.

Feel free to ask him about it if you like... he goes by "ibanender" on the forums. Mostly frequenting the SPLBassX.com forum.
he claimed to be getting over 4800 watts of clamped power from each 4kw.

You're saying a sundown can put out more than that?

Also he said he was getting rid of the memphis for 8 cheaper amps not 4.

Link?

I am pretty sure that Jake has no reason to lie about it. And is it really that obscene to think it MAY outperform on a 16v system strapped with solid electrical? In this install it is possible it is better...

Memphis MCD4kw - Soundpressure.com Forum

and yes it is pretty obscene to think thats true because the 4kw is one of the best amps in the world with a large 16 volt bank

And what is your point? He HAS *four* SAZ-1500Ds in his truck right now, whether he intended to get eight amps or not is irrelevant, he has four 1500Ds now, period. Why don't you try asking him rather than digging up old posts?

As we all know things don't always happen how you originally plan. He got the first two 1500Ds 20 days after his last post in that thread, the the other two later in 2007 -- plans change.

And I'm not saying *an* SAZ-1500D can put out more than 4800 watts. Sean is saying that a PAIR of 1500Ds at 16 volts at 1/2 ohm each with his battery bank, can, yes. Otherwise, he would not have taken out the 4kws. I didn't make him buy anything, he bought them because he wanted them. How hard is that to understand?

He clamped 5677 watts in his install from a pair @ 1/2 ohm each (1 ohm strapped) with 17.9 volts rest dropping to 15.5 volts. His numbers from his truck, the same one the Memphis amps were tested in. I'd post the link but the mods PMd me about "spamming" last time... go on my forum on SSA and it is in the sticky posts "SAZ-1500D High Voltage Testing."

*edit*

Here, he posted the results on SPLBassX.com as well... I'm assuming I can post that link since it doesn't have a store attached to it like SSA:

I guarantee that if the sundowns were at .5 each strapped that 1.7 difference would probably be more like .7 or even, which I actually think is pretty good for a pair of 1500d's. Whatever though, this has all been blown waaaayyyyy out of proportion. Look at the comparisons realistically, the sundowns are a consumer type amp being compared to large spl type amps, it's actually ridiculous. Even more that you guys are getting so fired up about it...lol.

That's why I said it wasn't completely fair, and I'm not fired up by any means.
