After many meetings and looking toward the future of competitions, Team Hybrids Canada has decided NOT to have a Team car in the Rookie class this year.

NOW this does not mean if anyone using our product will be abandoned in this class but I feel it is best that this class get back to its grass roots and have all new comers play and learn on a level playing field.

That being said I might experiment next year with a NEW non sanctioned class that is really designed for the true NEWBIE. I am still working on the details but this class will have a budget put on it and it will include cars that utilize STOCK head units. Its truly all about just creating some new excitement in the lanes and attracting those who want to compete but don't feel comfortable competing with bigger systems

cool

BTW, since all of my statements were addressed, I feel the need to answer your answer.
I wasn't dissin' AT ALL, I still plan on attending any shows that I can and help out (volunteer) in anyway that I can, including helping anybody (team enigmatic or not) in anyway that I can.
I was just saying how I personally feel about the question in post number one of this thread.

personally I don't think the cost of the shows is prohibitive at all, nor do I think the day of the week is.
I really just think lack of interest in SQ is the problem, SPL guys are SPL guys NOT because its cheaper or easier, they just enjoy ridiculous amounts of bass, free shows in their own driveway won't change that. and for the rest of the public, the advancement in stock systems is "SQ enough for them"
Take how many of anything Bose has sold as proof of what I just said (typed)

Welll...... here we go...

before i go on my little ramble lets tell you who i am and where iv come from to have a stand in the sport.

Iasca is one of the greatest communitys iv had a chance to be a part of. this 2009 year was my first year ever competing starting with the lindsay show where i made my first apearance. i am jsut like every one else on here. regular joe blow with a little knowledge behind me. i chose a brand of speakers and went with them after i heard them and was very pleased with them. progressing on in the season as money was saved up i upgraded to a higher model and so on. the community helped form my car as it is now with the help in suggestions and everything else. every show i could see the car progressing with the ambition that i wanted something to satisfy myself and i wanted on top!.

come the end of the year i had met sumone like me coming up in the lanes and we had team HERTZ emerge. it was really neat and awesome for everyone in the lanes to have another team. as stated teams are not just manufacturers its whatever you want them to be. and well i had a blast butting heads with the best in the class!! cheers julian! it was a great year man and many good times :P nedless to say i came from newbie to going to finals and making a hell of an effort for gold. anyone can do it. it takes you wanting to better your system for yourself.!

ok guys if you wanna complain about the cost of the shows get over it seriously the show prices are just right where they are cmon like what the hell does hockey cost to play every year.... this like everything else is a sport people and you have to pay for your equipment and your registration just like everything else.

second ..... prizes.. wtf .. seriously if you are complaining about them... if you manage to be good enough to take home a prize consider yourself prode to be up with the best. not oh wow i won a stupid piece of plastic. if you dont want it there are many others below you that have put just as much blood sweat and tears into everything they have done striving for the same thing! hell i was even grateful when it was just an award! id go get it framed and everything. its the pride behind it not the item itself.

the iasca leage i am going to be bring ing many close freinds of mine into for sure and promoting the sport as much as i can with vendor events already in the works and talkings that i want to add to the season!. if this is the amount of fun i have had in a year and many more to come imagine what it could be for you. showing attention to detail or how well trained your ear is and putting it all down on the lanes!

and cue end of my novel! lol
im not flamming anyone im just saying give it a chance it can get in your blood..

I posted earlier in this thread about how I was looking to start competing, one thing I got most excited about in reading the last two pages was Jason Gays post regarding starting a new super rookie class, I think that would have been just the thing that would have brought me out this past season. When looking on this and other boards and reading build logs of those competing in SQ someone like myself often see's the amazing large budget builds like avidetrs etc and thinks wow is this what I will need to do to compete, its way over your head as a new to car audio hobbyist.
I think having a class where people could bring there futurshop and self installed modest daily systems would be a great way to introduce many to SQ.
This season there was a SPL show at bestbuy that was a similar concept, with many restrictions to keep the hardcore out.

On another note
Is there anyone that is close to the burlington area or that would not mind driving that would be interested in helping me build up a rookie car for next season (my first big install) I have an bay that has just been made available to me to work in (so now cold). I also want to talk to some about selection of amps wire etc as I am already looking to upgrade some parts before they have even been installed lol

First task is big 6 (sebring battery is in the fender) so alt to jumper spot, jumper spot to battery, then block to chassis, chassis to jumper (issolated i think) then jummper or chassis to battery lol
Then full run to the trunk (I need to find some 0/1 wire cheap)
I have tusiumi rca's already to run. And then the doors... lol
Nick just messaged me too so he may join in as well.
