Thread revival.... Shopping for the best deal is often times not the best deal The actual alarm unit and parts themselves are far less important than the installation. Best price shops will do what I like to call "beep beep" installs.

Who gives a crap what the isntall looks like or of if connections were properly made and done with the best interest of the client. "beep beep" installs is basically, you push the button, you hear beep beep and you don't give a crap.

A pro installer will take care in hiding your siren, running all wires very cleanly and securely. solder all connections, follow factory wiring and mount everything securely.

Every year I get a good 30-40 clients coming to me because their alarm or starter is having issues less than a year after they bought it. Check the installs and it's a spaghetti fest. usually takes more time to clean up and re-do the install than it would have taken to do things right the first time.

All of our install are soldered and done properly. We offer great deals but we do not cut corners on our installs. You do not get a good reputation buy doing spaghetti installs. I also like the Viper but I think the Compustar is the best bang for the buck.

I agree, I install Vipers and Compustars all day and if security is the highest priority go with a viper. The new units have a really long range, look nicer, have better features such as a rechargeable remote through USB and they just work and respond better.
