HELP!!!!! Blown focal 27 KX
I got a 27kx off ebay about 3-5 months ago it came in box and looked brand new, just recently got a box made up and wired it up in the car, sub did nothing but if u touch the wires up to the end of the leads right at the voice coil the sub turns on but sounds blown. I'v tryed going to the stereo shop by my place witch sells focal and they say focal wont do anything about it because it was bought online, a few guys at the shop felt it and said it didnt feel blown.
Does anyone know of anything else that could be wrong or anywhere or how i can get it fixed?

Check the impedance on the tinsel leads at various sections and see what sort of reading you get with a multimeter. Try pushing on the middle of the dustcap and see if if you can feel/hear scraping of the coil as well. If it's not a simple tinsel lead problem, you're likely out of luck and would need the sub to be reconed.

The shop is right, bought on line = no warranty at all. Your sub might even be a counterfeit one for that matter. Meter it for sure to ensure continuity, chances are that the tinsel leads are toast or have a cold solder joint. More than likely toast by the sounds of the test you have already done. If it is powering up at the cone inputs and sounds distorted, chances are you got screwed. Always buy from a authorized CDN dealer.

Well thanks for the feedback, as for the sub it looks like the picture and the local dealer in my area said it was indeed a real focal sub, but unfortunatly it is blown, guess i learned my lesson, anyway thanks again for the feed back.
