I installed my amp to work on 2 ohms bridged. The amp seems to heat up on every setting i place it on is this normal for an amp? or does it mean theres something wrong with it? Is there anything i can do to counter this effect?

What amp is it and what speakers is it connected to? Where is it located in your vehicle?

 

I think you may have the amp bridged at an unstable load. There are very few amps that can be bridged and be stable at two ohm mono. Two ohm stereo is much more common. But just for confirmation, list the amp make and model...

bridged 4-8 ohm

Do i need to answer in both your posts asking the question? Is there anything else you'd like us to look up that you can find yourself?

 

Your amp is getting hot because it is at a lower load than it's happy with. $ohms bridged is the lowest it will like. If you can rewire your sub/subs to a 8ohm bridged load try it.

Ya, as above, your running it too low. As a side note, have you checked your "Big 3" - do a search on here.. If you need help go see a good 12V dealer in your area, if memory serves Peel auto radio and 20hz are near you.
