the better the meter the more accurate it will be...The mastercraft higher end ones are decent..do a good job, however nothing beats a Fluke meter, there are hundreds of brands that people use, but neccessity vs overkill..lol

there is nothing wrong with using ring terminals and bolting them together.
it is much cheaper than bus bars. you can get away with ring terminals if you are not using too much wire. if you have a ton of wire bus bars are just much easier to work with.
the trick to ring terminals when u use alot of runs is to get terminals that are two or three times the size of the wire, this way you can stick 2 or 3 peices of wire into a single terminal. really helps to save on space and cost.
what i used to do is go to partsource and buy their 3/0 or 4/0 gauge terminals and just stick 2 or 3 wires (1/0) into a single terminal. but that's a whole new topic.
