Hi all, I have a 1995 Chrysler Concorde with a stock Infinity sound system. It has the stock amp that is in the trunk. I have noticed that the 6x9s in the rear deck have 2 sets of wires which I have read is highs and lows/mids. I plan on purchasing new equipment soon but I can not do it all at one time. I plan on purchasing these speakers first.

After I get those speakers I plan on purchasing a ~270w RMS amp for the speakers above, and another 800w RMS monoblock for my two P2D4-12s I already have.

I have a couple questions.

1. How many channels do I need for the speaker amp?
2. How would I go about hooking the RF 6x9 and 5.25" to the stock amp? Could you bridge the two sets of wires to each 6x9 to one and connect that to the speaker?
3. Would my car be able to power amps of those wattages or would I need a new alt?

 

i'd prob suggest two matching nice 4 channel amps, bridge one 4 channel to run your 6x9's and the other four channel to pwr your 5 1/4 and 3.5inch speakers. I wouldn't even bother about using the exsisting amps at all.
