Wiring could be slightly different cuz every dvd i ever hooked up had a light green wire that supposed to hook to the emergency brake switch so that the tv only works when the brake is applied but i always been able to bypass this by just grounding that wire so id say you're probably better off getting the harness for that specific unit and for the headphone plug, u have to plug the rca's to an "input"on the dvd player not the a/v out...try that and it shld work.

Yeah I actually did mention I plugged the RCA end of the wire into the input as well and I did get sound but I also have a amp connected to the unit so I get sound from my door speakers but not the speakers connected to the amp.

Oh my bad, i read that u had hooked them just to the outputs...and when u have it runnin thru your input it plays thru the speakers hooked to the deck but not thru the speakers that run thru an amp? Is the a setting such as subwoofer or non fader that is switched to off? If itz hooked to an input and yoir gettin sound thru the deck speakers but not the amp speakers its gotta be an adjustment switch or switcj to the rear/subwoofer/non fader out to the amp... u dont happen to live in tucson do u? Lol its hard to understand all without seeing your set up, id start with getting the original plug for your deck alot of your problems may be surrounding the fact that some wires are crosses or not there all together.

Lol nah I live in Florida. But yeah theres 2 channels on the unit so one channel has the RCA outputs connected from the amp and I connected the headphone plug into the other channel. Then I had the AV video option selected on the unit so it started playing without the subwoofers. I ordered the original harness off of ebay so I'm gonna try that and see it fixes any of my problem. I think there may be a problem with the wiring though.

Ok so, i downloaded the pdf file install manual for your dvd player. So lookin at the back of the deck i see a front and rear output at the bottom center of the dvd player, those are obviously both goin to eq's, crossovers, amps, whatever. Then i see an audio and video input in the upper right corner on the back of the dvd, the audio inputs is where you wld plug the rca plug that goes to your mp3 or phone. I believe u then have to go into your audio video settings n the dvd player and set them for audio video or whatever the options are, jus select different options til u get sum sound, i have mine set to dvd but i dnt now if the options are the same on mine cuz i got the avh-p6600dvd and it has an external processor that has my inputs on it for vcr/dvd and i have my rca/headphone plug for my phone going into those inputs but had no sound at first and had to get into the settings and make sum changes before i got sound. I also see there is an iphone plug at the botm right corner on the back of the dvd says it needs a special plug for it, i think u already said that didnt work, did u test the plug to make sure it not just a bad cord? When hook the phne to that is there any adjustments or settings that need to be configured to accept it? Cuz it all seems it should be workin if this is what yer doin and all your connects are good. U definatly need the right plug for it your a/v input issues may be due to the fact that the light green wire i was tellin about isnt there and connected to ground cuz without that installed it disables that function (a/v, dvd) so id wait til u get the proper harness, hook that up and go from there.

I did use the same outputs you were talking about. As for the settings, I went to AV and selected the video option. There wasn't an option for sound and also the other options wouldn't allow me to select the AV source to play audio/video from anyway. Only the video option allowed me to select the AV source. The DVD source is what I select if I wanna play music from a CD so I didn't really think that would give me sound if I selected it. After I connected the RCA to the outputs next to the other outputs where my amp is connected to, I still had the source on AV and that's where I was getting sound from but it just wasn't with my subwoofers.

It was a brand new iPod adapter that I bought. Like I said before, it allows me to go through the iPod's playlist, albums, etc. It doesn't give me any sound though. There isn't any other settings to go through for the iPod.

U definatly need the right plug for it your a/v input issues may be due to the fact that the light green wire i was tellin about isnt there and connected to ground cuz without that installed it disables that function (a/v, dvd) so id wait til u get the proper harness, hook that up and go from there.
There has to be some kind of wiring problem that's preventing me from getting sound from everything but the DVD and radio source. I will see if I can replace the new harness with the one I have now and see if it helps. Just don't know if that's why I'm not getting sound from at least the AUX or iPod options.
