UNKNOWN PROBLUM (accelerator makes the humm worse)
#33
... and i unhooked my rears (at the speaker) and it was gone!!!!!!!!! now im really confused... i have my 4ch hooked up as a 3ch with my fronts on full and my sub briddged on the 3/4 ch's sounds ok but i want my rears... so i am thinking i need a new 2 ch.. but i still dont understand why the humm totaly stopped when i unhooked rear speakers??(they were hooked up to the 4ch)
1-double/ triple check that a speaker wire on the affected amp isn't touching ground reconnect them one at a time (you could have pinched a speaker wire to ground as well) run a second line if your not sure
2-hook the other amp up (without speaker wires) if there is hum then the problem is the amp, or its RCA, or its ground point
remember when your trouble shooting your finding where the ground isn't as well as finding where it is

well, my sub WAS hooked up to the 2ch.. its now hooked up to the 4ch, but the amp is set to 3ch, and the rears are disconcted. i have the front rcas and the NF (non fading) rcas hooked up. i do not have the rears... as i still need one more set of rcas.. but i think i have one... but i also think it may be the 2ch amp as well.... so before i put in my other rca i want to get another 2ch amp to test with. and see if that cures it.. but as for now i have clear sounds from my front 6.5's and my 12'' sub.
