i havent baught an amp yet, i want to use one that properly powers the type r as in i dont want the sub to be underpowered. i will be useing an alpine amp probably....... maybe a MRP-M450 or a MRP-M650 maybe even a MRD-M605

well you are going to have to go with a 6" port so you dont have port noise. but a 1.5cf box @ 33hz with a 6" port has a port lenght of 42" which will not fit within your box.
your options are:
use an 4" areo port
use a sealed box
tune higher
or make the box larger

You could do a crazy bending slot port out the side. Just another option (for an example check out elemental designs boxes).

when you say a 4" port and a 6" port im guessing your talking about a round port?

what if i did a square slotted port? would that help or no?

or are you talking about how wide the slotted port would be

With a slot part you could make it any height/width you want to, and bending is really easy to do. I would recommend going with a slot port with the restrictions you have.

i thaught a slotted plort would be easyer and to tell you the truth i like the look of the slotted port better anyways. how would the slotted port work with the slanted back?

it can done if you have good wood working skills.or you could make your box with out the slanted back and it would be alot easier

ill get my dad to give me a hand he is really good at woodworking has a full shop and has built everything in the house like i said building the box it not the problem knowing the dimentions and what to do about the port is the bigger problem
