How much bigger do you suggest? I mean, I only have 12' type R's, won't it sound like ? What should I be aiming for, give me a cubic foot number or something to work with haha.

I don't want it to sound muddy, but I do want it to be loud. My old box was tuned to 34 or 36 hertz (not sure which) and it was loud as hell, only 3 cubes total for two 10' CVX's.

There, i got the link to work at least to the photos of the box i posted last time. 3.6 cubes after displacements tuned to 35 hz with 75 sq.in.of port. It will not sound like . It will get low and loud. Anything under 3 cubes for 2-12s will not be the greatest unless you put a large port with considerable amount of length. This is just one design i have done for them if you give me your max dimensions and listening preferences id be more the happy to design one for you. Also if you have a preference of speaker and port position.

Ahh , thats a sick enclosure but the thing is I don't have one single big amp. I have two 1600 watt amps, but after voltage drop and all that crap, they put about 800 RMS each. So, what I need is two seperate boxes within one. The box I came up with is only half. I will double up the length and put a divider in the middle, so it'll be 3.4 cubes total gross, and 2.6 cubes net after removing port displacement for both sides. I wanna do the basic slot port style.

I looked into how much a table saw rental is though. Yeah, I can get someone to do it for cheaper rofl.

But, your designs are sick. All I need is two seperate chambers for each subwoofer though, thats the only major restriction.

Space wise, I have about:

I can be about 25 inches deep, 35 inches wide, and 16 inches high. (an inch or two in either direction is ok, I left about a 2 inch gap around all directions.

Ok so you want seperate chambers with their own port? With your max dimensions, you have 8 cubes to play with which is plenty. I will not design one that big, dont worry. That is no problem, give me a little bit of time and i will post it on here and send you a pm with the dimensions.

wow sweet. There's a lot more room height wise but I tried to keep that as low as possible so my cargo cover still fits over top.

If you can, try not to make it so long, i have a fear that it's gonna hit my rear hatch lol.

But thanks a bunch man. I never really knew this, but what big difference does a big box have? I know its more efficient, but is it still fairly accurate for everyday listening?

It all depends on certain things, box size, tuning, Vb to port ratio, power, even vehicle.

Well I was just wondering, if you go so big, is a lot of accuracy lost? Or is it made back up by just messing with the port and tuning?

Yes. So heres what i came up with. I used you max dimensions, and designed a seperate chamber seperate ported box. 2 cubes after displacements per chamber tuned to 36 hz, peaks at 40 and has an
f3 of 32 with 43.5 sq.in. of port per chamber. You can do it 2 ways subs and ports facing the hatch, or subs up, ports facing hatch, which is my choice of the 2. If you like them let me know and ill send you a detailed cutout and assembly instructions through email.

Anyways I could have such a big box but have it tuned lower? 36 hertz seems a bit high, maybe the the low 30 range? Don't get me wrong, the box layout looks sick (hell of a lot better than anything I'd do lol) but I'm just worried about SQ
