Help a noob build his first box for type R 12's!

Honestly I'm open to everything but I'd rather have the space ontop of the box, I'm a fairly big guy so I think I can handle putting the subs into the box and screwing it in lol
If it comes down to needing the flat space on the top for "stuff", go for it......it's not like you'll miss the Db or 2 you might lose anyways......

The SPLers like that notorious N130Gv2 guy will always try and point you at the loudest possible solution.......consider yourself warned......

The loading he is referring to is what happens to the sound after it exits the box, particularly for the ports. Either one of those designs will get you very loud, but the general concensus for SUVs is to separate the ports from the woofers.

I don't think I'll miss that 2 DB as much as I'll miss the space ... maybe now my dad will stop stealing my jeep from me when he needs to haul stuff, it gets dirty as hell.
If you have it built and havent decided what to do
go with what is a general good2do option for seperating or combining sound waves
direct the ports to the back along with the subs (trunk lid) and the waves from ports and subs(front and back of woofers)will swirl and combine giving maximun loudness for your setup(this is the case with my experiences)
or..................
send the port flow towards you in the front and point woofers towards the back and seperate the sound waves..........
if tuned properly you will get better SQ than combining them but think about how good it would b 2 combine them...........MORE POWER!!!!!!!!!!! but this should b up to U! its your setup and your ears so do what you what with this info.............message me for ALOT more info............10 years exp homemaking boxes(MDF,fibreglass, once made a theatre sub enclosure outta polished marble 3/4" thick weighed 137LBS EMPTY) SO TIGHT WITH A BOSTON LOW END SUB

My type R 15 dual 2 ohm sub was badass in a 3.2cu.ft. coffin box Port tuned to 24Hz had waves combine for a 147.4db on a rockford punch power 1100a2 1440RMS@4ohms MONO B4 i removed the protection cercuit and cooked AMP when sub XMAXED like 3inches and box lifted off ground.IT WAS AWESOME had 2 B 1-2 DB louder from MOD on amp alone.
I sure as hell miss that thing like i would a hand.......looked at carcass 2 days ago I cant bear to throw it out.................after 5 years i still got it.
ANYone who can fix it will be rich with my money

Gee, I was only trying to help....

I've seen/heard several systems in his kind of vehicle, so I've felt the differences between box designs.
