Thinking of trying PORTED- Suggestions??

I have a 12" Soundstream Tarantula T5 Sub (900 watts rms-1800 max) running off an Alpine MRP-M1000 (1000w@ 2 ohms) in a 1ft cubed sealed box based on manufacturers recommendation.

It does decent musicically but I would like to try a ported box that would still maintain a decent tightness but of course would add more spl.

I have read how some guys have claimed that if you design a box right it can still give off pretty good tightness.

Does anyone have a link to a DIY box that I could build?

Download a free copy of WINISD box building software
Find the T/S (thiele and small) parameters for your SS sub
Plug that information into WINISD and you can model different boxes all day long

I find as long as you have a sub volume control you can keep all kinds of music sounding tight with a ported box.
