You sure you're not talking bout a D2?

I'm positive I'm not talking about a D2.
I used to own a D3 and had it sent out to db Don to get it tested. He got just over 2800w RMS at .25 Ohms.
(Which means probably a peak of about 5kw.. but not RMS)

Dunno what's louder, but here's some numbers for ya:
My H2 12.2 is mounted upside down in a sealed box, that is firing out of a slot (this is so that when I chuck crap in my van, I don't puncture the cone). She has an Orion 1200D pushing it at one ohm.
I hit 135ish on my windshield.
I hit 154ish in the port.
If I cover the port (for Outlaw SPL) with a rolled up canvas tarp, I have hit as high as 163.7.

Ok first off, about the amps, I found out that it was supposed to be 2000wrms@2ohm and 3000wrms@1ohm, so its probably pretty close to that.
About the H2 12.2, dont they take up to 2000wrms? Or do they run just fine off of 1200?

What kind of test was he doing ???
Resistive, reactive ?
If the amp was run out of current at the load 2800 clean watts a .25 could be less then clean power output at .5 or 1ohm....
Did he give you power output at any other loads ?

You can't always believe what a manufacturer (or ebay seller) says.
Here is a link to the test done by dbDon. If you don't know who Don is I'll just say that he's very respected in the spl community. click here
The most power he got out of a reactive load (ie, a speaker) was 2815w RMS at .5 Ohms.
At 1 Ohm the amp was measured to put out 2030w RMS.
I'm sorry if you don't like that answer, but it is what it is. This is still considerably higher than any other amp he has tested it against.
Interesting..
You can see from the #s that the D3 is probably current clipping under 1ohm... he got the most power at .94, and it very well could put out the 3kw at 1ohm as advertised... it would be pretty marginal though...
Knowing the actual input voltage would be nice... but he says it was over 14... so...
