2004 Chevrolet Aveo Hatchback speaker size
Hey!
I am having a ridiculously tough time finding an accurate speaker size for my Aveo.
I visited Crutchfield and they said 4" rounds ONLY will fit in the front and rear slots, and components won't fit at all. I noticed an oval factory grill over my rear speakers, so I pulled the siding down slightly to find out there are 4x6s installed.
Assuming Crutchfield was slightly mistaken, I visited BestBuy's, Circuit City's, and FutureShop's websites to see what they say an Aveo Hatchback uses. They gave me a range of sizes... 5 1/4", 6 1/2", 5x7", and so on.
Has anyone worked on an Aveo here? I'd love to know what all will truly fit in this car. Also, assuming that more than just 4" rounds will fit, what is the biggest speaker size that will comfortably fit? If I can avoid using such small speakers as 4" or 4x6", that would be superb. It looks like a wide magnet diameter can fit in the rear panel, but the front doors are fairly slim. I don't want to bump the front speaker magnet if I roll my window down.
Thanks a bunch!

Hey man. I pretty much just bought the same vehicle. I do not know about the stock speaker size but I have some kicker 5.25" titaniums that I plan on throwing in the front. As for the back, I am just going to unhook them when I install my head unit. Having a great frontstage is better than having a great frontstage with sucky rear speakers. It will be a few weeks before I rip my door open to install my speakers so let me know what you find under the plastic.

I pulled the paneling back to find my speaker sizes finally. This is for the 2004 Chevy Aveo 4-door hatchback. I'm not ENTIRELY sure that every one is the same since there are so many sizings I've seen from online car audio stores. The rear speakers in my Aveo are 4x6 and the doors have 4" rounds.
I figure I'll go with some Infinity 42.7i and 462.7cpf.
Hope that helps anyone with this particular vehicle.
