That's actually a very good point Paul, although drivers up on the dash have been around so long now, it's almost considered old school!! And yes, dash drivers do need some processing............ unfortunately.

KP's are also an excellent choice and sometimes a pile easier to pull off without wrecking factory OEM parts..........

I've had both kick panel and dash/pillar mounted mids in my Neon. Kicks yeilded better results off the bat. I had very little in the way of eq or ta. But my stage was still fairly stable and high. From an installation point of view kicks are my prefered way to go. More forgiving installation and consistant results. It took me a very long time to get my car to sound the way it does with my dash/pillar mids and tweets. I use processing and more eq then I would like to admit. My car is built like a tank. Lots of aluminum and expensive materials. I would say my sound is by far better then it was with kick panels, but I've also put more time into the set up. There are several cars around with pillar mounted mids that sound poor at best. If your going to go with pillars, put as much time as you can on the install and set up. $1500 will get you some great equipment, but if you install isn't up to par, your SOL.
