6x9's for midbass?

There is a place in the US www.audiooutfitter.com that quoted me either $22.64 US each or for a pair, I have to double check, which is a decent deal if you can't find them locally. There is a shop in the Fraser Valley http://www.musicworx.ca/ that should be able to get them I think.

*shrug* Nothing wrong with my 3-way 6x9's... they're the big 300 watt Kenwood Excelon's... I've got a set in the front doors and another going in a box above my middle seat...
They sound awesome, picking up full range. I notice the difference with them set at full range, or cutting 40, 60, or 80 Hz out (using my HU's built in crossover's). Currently I run the fronts at 40, but that'll change when I add the rears. And rather than cutting the tweeters out for the rears, I'll be running them through an external XO that'll cut the highs out. Or just get speaker coils/caps, that'd be the cheap way to do it.

the rear midbass will most certainly smear image, and localize sound to the rear, 2 very undesirable things when trying to get good sound, your best bet it to upgrade the 5.25" to a 6.5", there are a tone of amazing 6.5" midrange/bass speaker that will yield great midrange and great midbass, btw the typr r 6.5" isnt one of them, good luck

Thanks for all the input guys, I think i'll take your advice and not bother with the midbass in the rear. Another thing I didn't think of was if I put speakers back there I'm gonna completely seal off the trunk from the cab. I think that would probably hurt my SPL. Thanks again for the help
