True!
Can't really be all that far to a decent shop though is it?.....never heard systems that you rally liked for one reason or another to use as a starting point for your search?.....have anyone you really trust that you know wont steer you wrong on equipment or has the same basic taste as you?.....Lots of good reliable people on here that would help steer you in the right direction. make a post, ask the question "I have a $750 dollar budget"..."this is my car...these are my tastes (sound and music)...these are my goals, what can you recommend and why?"
you'll quickly see what answers to pay heed to and which to ignore"

tip: "Kicker FTW" ....would not be the advise you're after

the only way to really audition equipment is once you have installed it.........

as far as the sony amp I'm sure its just fine for the application...... and the kicker components, I'm sure they are just as good as all the other average name brand crap that is out there.... For install, I'd leave tweeters in the rear deck out of the equation, but thats up to you....

please tell me your not serious?

The problem is, no offense to you great guys, but i'm used to the stuff i've used back in SA, and its never available in Canada, and if you want to order it, it costs a fortune.

And if you ask anyone in town about it, they just say "Oh thats , come try out this Blah"

How the *** is if:
1. Costs 3x as much as your best
2. Has twice better spec than your best
3. Doesn't have Infinity, Clarion, Phoenix, Diamond, [name whack brand in here] in the name

> Kicker has countless awards for the solar baric
> MTX coax are second to none
> Alpine has the best harmonic time alignment amps in the world (no surprise why Mercedes and Audi use it)
> Sony amps are best bang for buck amp you can get, with SNRs that compete with the best
> Pioneer head units always sport the latest technology

Everyone has its place.

The reason I dont like the popular brands you see in futureshop, bestbuy etc.. is because these brands dont exist in SA. No one has heard of it over there. And if i call up a friend and tell him i just bought an Infinity x y z. I guarantee you hes going to say "Is that some cheap American crap? "

@MTT - The closest audio shop i see is about 30km away, and they carry all the best canadian brands.
