In fairness, back to your original post, if you want to build a decent SQ system or just something that is loud and clear and can shake some mirrors in your daily driver and build it in stages starting with the "sub stage" I would not spend your money on the materials and labour you listed. I wouldn't say you'll be getting ripped off. I just don't think it will get you to your goal and down the road you will not be as pleased as you could have been.

spoke with someone on the website and ive come to the conclusion that i will be running:

big 3
extra battery in the trunk
refurb'd sundown amplifier
fi audio q 12
tune it to around 35-36 hz
then probably a month later update my stereo amplifier and if needed update my mids 6x9's and tweets.

for almost the same price i will be running 1000w rms through the fi q which i kno i will be muchhh more pleased with then what i was offered at the shop.

The JBL amp and "P" sub you originally mentioned would be about the same price on ebay as just the FiQ.

The JBL amp is no slouch either with 700w @ 2 ohm.

The FiQ and Sundown are also solid choices. Just not sure you would hear a difference if you port both.
