so I just installed my clarion apx640.2 and ran it bridged to power my jl10w6.. and it gave it nothing.. so i switched subs to my cadence ultradrive and it powered it fine.. could it just be that the amp doesn't like a 3 ohm load it's being given from the dual 6ohm jl sub?

 

was the sub moveing or making any noises?

 

nothing.. nada.. I turned down the gains down to 0 on every other amp and cranked the clarion and the sub wasn't making a peep.. even took it out of the enclosure and watched the coils and everything..

 

what happens if you press down slighty on the cone does it move freely?

 

also the jl sub buzzes and distorts at higher volumes.. is there a way to tell if it's for sure blown? (btw this is when its powered by my concept amp that feeds it nicely in a 3 ohm load)
