Hi guys,

I have a pair of focal polyglass 165v components and an alpine mrv f340 4 channel amp. My plan is to bridge the amp to power the components.

I will be using a pair of focal 5WS's in the rear. My question is, should I go ahead and purchase the alpine mrd m300 mono amp off my friend to power the small subs? Or should I use my mrv f340 instead, and find a different amp to power the components?

So...to summarize,

focal polyglass 165v up front.
focal 5WS's in the rear.
Alpine mrv f340 4 ch amp.

What amp should I get to complete the system and where should I use it? Thank you.

Jason

That combination sounds good... I think Id want to add a real subwoofer and cross those over high, though.... (may depend on your tastes if you need more low end or not, but those focals are more for midbass if you ask me)

The 5WS IS a REAL subwoofer, don't let it's size fool you.
I presume the equipment is going to be installed into a smaller vehicle? Can you put 2 5WS ?

Yes i'm installing a pair of them into a Crx. Going into the stock rear speaker locations. I phoned up Focal and they told me the mono amp will be fine running at a 2 ohm load and hooking them up in parallel. They also recommended the enclosure to be 0.3 cubic feet.
