amp wiring.. suggestions?
i just want the cap for my mono amp though, just for the bass peaks (some argue whether caps work or not, i notice less dimming etc.). i wouldnt want to waste the stored energy by putting it into both amps, it seems to work fine alongside my kenwood but i don't think i'd want to use it for my mids/highs in case it robs power from my mono...
i guess my original plan was to have __ga wire running to the distro block, and 2 __ga wires (1 for each amp) coming off the block, and 1 of those wires (for the mono sub amp) will have the cap in between the distro and the amp. just wasnt 100% sure on what awg to go with.. 2ga with 1 4ga per amp does sound like a good plan.
thanks again guys!

sry i cant explain it better.
You can use the terminals on your cap as a place to hookup both amps....don't worry about "losing power" to the sub amp....heavier power wire and distro blocks are the way to go if you plan on upgrading again at some point in the future....which you will....and then you'll be broke all over again, just like the rest of us.... cool. soo if i was to do it a bit "ghetto" for the time being, i could run my existing 4ga to the cap, and run an 8ga to the other amp? or am i going to need 2ga wire either way? because if i am gonna upgrade my wire, i might as well spring for the distro block while i'm at it.. if that is the case. i didnt know about the cap thing though, didnt think it would be possible heh.
4ga is lots for the Kenwood. Keep your existing 4ga to the Cap., split at the cap. and run 4ga to the Kenwood and 8ga to the Jensen.
Think of a cap. as a battery, that's basically what it is. It doesn't matter if you run two seperate wires from the battery, split before, at, or after the cap., the result is the same.
Electricity runs in a continuous loop, it doesn't start and stop at the battery. The battery and the cap. are just components within the loop.
