i bought a used mtx rt4240 planning to run a JL 10w0 and a pair of infinity 6000cs components. i'm not sure now if it can be bridged for 3 channel use. the guy i bought it from said it could, but i don't know now. i do not have the manual, nor can i find it online. on the amp, there is a 4/2 channel switch and the speaker output terminals mention nothing about how to bridge 2 channels into 1. i know i should have checked into this furthur before i bought it, but the guy said it would work and well, i guess i'm too trusting in people sometimes. any help is appreciated, thanks.

Does your amp have a sticker on the bottom that looks a bit like this?:

I think it usually tells you on there which you use to bridge (example: left positive, right negative). You should be able to bridge that amp, I believe.

thanks ross, ya i believe it is left + and right - but i'm still unsure if you can run it in 3 channel mode.

EDIT: looks like i can, in the manual there, system diagram #2 is exactly what i am trying to do. I assume that i select 4 channel mode on the amp, correct?

Glad to help, I am pretty sure that 2/4 channel select is to select if you want to run the whole amp off of one set of rca's coming in, or two sets, front and rear, nothing to do with bridging it, pretty sure.

oh ok. well, i only have one set of pre-outs but they are Y-split on both sides. Which would be better or is it just the same?
