bad noises?!?

well, heres the deal. my cousins subs are making a bad HUM noise and we are both not sure what it is. i figured i would post on here and see if i can get any ideas on what the problem may be.
a few noises that ive noticed are.
1.) general light hum while the deck is on (subs are on) which is constant.
2.) a bigger hum when she turns the system on. (more like a thump)
3.) when the interior light is on it hums louder and than when the light slowly fades off the hum noise fades aswell.
im guessing its a power issue but im not sure from what or how to fix it. i have a few ideas but i figured i would see what info i can get first.
thanks

As a relitive newby to this type of thing,I want to take a stab here...sorry if I am wrong....
My guess is a ground loop...
Had a very similar problem with my Pyramid amp before and thats what I was told...
Not too sure what exactly it is..but...
Can some one either back me up or show me where I am wrong here?
I too would like to know what it is...

hmm.. i went out and looked at the ground wire. its hooked onto a big *** bolt right in the middle of the back of her trunk. if i did move it im not sure where else i would put it. ive looked around for different areas but the only other screws that i found where quite small and part of the rear light wires., and im not up for drilling a new hole.
any ideas?

make sure the ground cable isnt loose
you may wish to add a star washer and sand down
the paint under your ring terminal.
you could also be getting feedback through
your rca cables try a new one
i recomend double shielded twisted.
let me know how you make out!
