i have a mustang hatchback and the battery is in the hatch area. its inside a moroso battery box and i wanna put a sub and amp back there and i was just wondering if there are any extra precautions that i need to take or if theres anything i need to do different as oposed to if the battery was still under the hood.

Venting is alays good to look into!

 

Yep, a very good point unless it's a sealed Optima type. And even then... if something goes wrong with it, it may gas. And a @#$^ed up Optima makes an impressive guyser of gas spewing out the top, lemme tell ya.

Anyway, proper venting, and make sure the fuse is good enough. You may need a bigger one, especially, if you crank up the tunes on a cold morning, that's when your fuse will pop... (an alternator, when it's cold first thing in the morning, can output almost 25% more amps than it's rated for. So if you fuse a 105 amp alternator with a 120 amp fuse and draw full power from it when it's cold.... it could pop.)

That's about it though... Unless you find out that you need a bigger alternator. Then you gotta do some cabling too...
