Really, If i had 600 to spare, i'd spend all of it on a good HU.
What you need is is an All-In-Package deal starter system. Most car audio shops want to sell off stuff that hasn't sold, so they put together package deals. You want something that would be upgradable.
CD/Mp3 HU (most can do RCA front/rear and switch to front/sub which is what you need.)
4 channel amp
Good Door speakers & cheap 6x9's
1 Sub-in-a-box
All wires included.
Run the door speakers off ch 1 & 2, Bridge Ch 3 & 4 for one 4 ohm sub.
Run the rear 6x9s off deck power. Keep the rears at low volume, it's only for fill or people in the back seat.
You'll get a hundred other suggestions on here, then be right back at square one.
Good Luck!!
