If you're looking at doing SQ with DD sub's then you'll want to look at their Sq series, the 9100's. The 9115's have an FS of 30, are 93db for sensitivity and will easily take 1500 watts each, but only need 800 each.
Check it out DDAudio Digital Designs Speakers Made in the USA
I have the 9110's and am very happy with them. The 15's would have been my sub of choice if I had more space. I do very well in the SQ competitions in BC.
Using a Z2LV might be a little overkill for an SQ system, but if you have the space and the money, they put out like there is no tomorrow.

actually he's getting the JBL for 2 Gs, I think it fell of a truck or something...lol.. and the bling factor is undeniable. He has a hard on for 15s so there is no telling him differently.

$2g's for that amp? rip off and a half man. that thing is hardly worth $1,500 for its practical use. your friend does know that he will never get 6,000 watts out of it, right?

I think it's the bling factor too, and I'm sure it'll be enough sound to impress everyone.

I've not been impressed with that amp...ever. It is impressive looking. But Pyramid has come up with impressive looking product in the past too.
You might want to look at other name brands that have proven themselves, like DD, Helix, DLS, Audison, to name a few.
The brands that used to dominate the breath of car audio enthousiasts have all sold out for the almighty dollar, compromising quality. It's a shame really, but that is corporate ideology.
Good luck on your search.

yeah, i guess you're right...what the hell does JBL and Crown know about sound?? Except for the last 50 times that i went to a concert and saw their name on everything. Anyway, as far as the amp is concerned, I'm sure nobody will mistake it for a Pyramid. The DD stuff they might though, as few "normal" people have ever heard of DD, and he really doesn't hang with car audio geeks. For his purposes I actually told him to go with a better known brand of subs, but he is hiding the subs anyway, and just showcasing the amps. He actually has 3 Audison vrx 2.400's for his full range already, and is using all Morel components for speakers.
