well i have the vdrive turned off and am only using the preouts, and i noticed a huge difference no lie. i ddi not have any dimming lights and i had planned on the upgrade from the time i purchased the deck but only just found time. And yes The subs do hit much harder, nice and crisp. I believe before i was clipping the preout signal at higher volumes as the stock acura 22 gauge harness could not supply the current required. So to anyone that does not believe my claims, it is cheap enough , like 16 bucks total and 30 minutes of my time, so try it yourself and see. I think it would be benifitial to anyone, if the factore harness is as small as mine was. And if this is a repost i appologise i just wanted to get the word out to those who may not have known.

I actually HAD to upgrade the power wire on my Panasonic HU.

When I was competing there just wasn't enough power going to the deck during burps and it would skip like crazy. Even making the HU do weird things like change from CD mode to the radio, and skip to different tracks.

I upgraded to 8g and the problems went away. [/qb]
Actually I have, and it did precisely nothing. You abusing the crap out of gear is hardly relevant to the install. Yes, a power/ground upgrade on a deck in certain conditions can be advantageous but for the rest of us it's a waste of time.

Also, since the Alpine V-drive decks REQUIRE 10g or whatever, it's hardly an upgrade, now is it? [/QB]
I think JordyO should be treated as the authority here since he knows wicked amounts about anything audio.... trust me he knows what hes talking about!

Why is debate so looked down upon by certain members of this site? No one ever learns anything if all you do is stroke each others ego.
