When i am building a box and I am bracing it, doesnt the bracing take up extra airspace inside the box? thus making the airspace within the box a little smaller or was i supposed to compensate for that before i built the box?

Yes it takes up space and yes technically you are supposed to allow for it by making the box bigger.

Unless the box is tiny and you plan to use a large amount of bracing it is not usually a big deal though.

what about say...the magnet and basket and stuff. that stuff takes up space as well. for instance, look at the W7, look at the size of that friggin magnet! say it was going to go in a 1cu ft. box, would it would 1cu ft. of space including the magnet and stuff, or not including?

most manufactures list the displacment of the sub or when they list they recomend size of box they include sub displacment.

^ I must use different brands of woofers then because I have generally found that box sizes suggested by manufacturers are net [img]graemlins/dunno.gif[/img]
