I'm abit bent outa shape. I live in nova scotis and have been into car audio for 17 years. about 2 years ago I was introduced to ebay. Since then I have purchased about 70 items from ebay. I would like to give you a few details of sales. The last one I can say is at Glubes sound studio an xtant 6.1amp. sells for $1499cad. At indoaudio(ebay) it sells for $425cad. Some of you may say"well if you add all the fees it will equal $1499. Thats BS!! I've bought from them before. The customs/taxes would equal so much less!! So why would I purchase from local merchants?? I bought a orion 2500D for $575us shipped! I'm told it would sell for about $2500 here. I'm sorry. I'd much rather buy locally but when considering the amout of money to be saved.....MUST buy from US.
Tell me your thoughts.

No offence intended, but please move to the US as you seem intent on supporting their economy and not ours. Perhaps we should also give your job to a Yank and call it a day.

No offence intended? You're quite absurb. I guess my million dollar question is WHY cant canadian companies compete? Are there any good canadian companies that at least come close??

I'd be kinda interested to know this same stuff. Why does it always seem like stuff is cheaper in the US (ebay or not). I understand a lotta online websites aren't authorized dealers, so buyin locally you might get some extra stuff. But assuming it's the same equipment, are they getting it from different distributors or something?

Most of the time these online compainies have no stock (therefore no warehouse and next to no overhead) no employees etc.

Other times they purchase refurbs, discontinued items, b-stock, gray-market stuff etc.

As for brick & Mortor shops in the USA they can have different warranties, different distributers, different pricing structures, different economies, different costs...

What happens if the item you purchased requires repair? SOL
What about if your unit arrives dead? SOL
What about if yourn not happy with the product and want to return it and try something different? SOL.

SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL ECONOMY.

Where could these internet companies get their goods for such low prices? Same places as the big companies? I don't understand the diff. in price.
