Bypassing And Removing An Amplifiers Protection (Kicker)
OK i have a kicker 354XI 4 channel amp i also had a 2 channel amp 352xi that was modded.... anyway i sold the 2 channel and picked the 4 channel up same amps however it runs only 4 ohms bridged mono... on my us amps 2000x its been modded to run down to 2 ohms without going into protection... Sat was removed....
the old 2 channel kicker amp i had was also modded to run down to 2 ohms and ran for years like this the 4 channel amp run 2 ohms for abit then goes into protection.... can someone give me some insight on modding this amp and remove the protection circutry i know my way around electronics but i just need abit or guidence on what to cut or bypass to remove the protection...
PS i dont need someone to tell me not to do it or how bad it is. ive run my old modded amps that were 4 ohm stable down to 2 ohms and they worked perfect for years i just need someone who knows to give me the advice
please and thank you

If its moded, it shouldnt go into protection. I would think that they woulda moded that circut too.
Maybe there are some small signal transistors in the protection circut that are toast.
You can always probe around to see. .

ok well you guys misunderstood the 354xi the new amp i got my old 352xi was the modded one... and it ran 2 ohm just fine i want to know how to bypass the protection circut so it doesnt go into protect..... basically if it blows up i dont care but i know for a fact it will handle it just fine..... there are no differences from the 2 channel one to the 4 channel amp only problem is i dont have the 2 channel anymore..... and i was wondering if anyone could tell me what exactly to look for to bypass it or adding constant power to a circut so it wont go into protection.....
Identify a small circut that bleed power from the output stage, there will be small transistors close by. Remove one and test the amp.
If it doesnt do anything. replace the transistor.
look at another circut.
Dont remove the drivers. They will be small transistorsas well.
Thats if you dont care about the amp.
