I remember buying some car audio stufff at Future Shop, and then after realizing there prices are just stupidly expensive compared to online.

But they do everything there for you, you can get the warranty and the install done. So if something ever goes wrong, all I godda do is drive 40 km's to the FS here and tell them to fix it for me.

Plus I think the installs have a warranty as well? I don't remember...

I am ordering some stuff from Rob, and the only place to get car audio stuff installed here is at FS. So I guess they are my only choice!

Normally I appreciate the work that mods and admins do here . . . but JordyO You have gone off too far. Your last comment is clearly a threat and a silencing tactic . . . so what is the average user of this board like me supposed to think about this?

Personally, I see you acting as totalitarian dictator here. I see that you will publicly threaten people who disagree with you. I see that as a person with power you will abuse that power to squelch free speech.

That attitude doesn't make this a community that I want to be a part of. If I were a paying advertiser, I would think twice about advertising in a place where a mod acts the way that you did. Even if you are a volunteer, that doesn't give you the rite to threaten a vendor to shut up.

I expected more from you Jordy. In the past you've acted with more integrity. I don't know what happened here, but you got out of line.

That's Classic! Ryan's post is something I would print, frame and show my friends if I were Jordy.

Why don't you just call UPS once you have your tracking number, tell them that you will clear it through customs yourself, pick it up after paying the taxes(if any) and then voila - no borkerage fee!

As the guy who seem to unintentionaly start this mess.I feel that this exchange actually taught me something.although it was ruff around the edges the was some really usefull info.I dont know Jordy but it sounded like he was saying what people dont say aloud, some times this is a good thing, sometimes admins can say things others are thinking with out the same reprisial. It seems to me there is alot of factors involved in ordering from the U.s..I hope no one took it to personal..it's a symptom of the money crunch we all are feeling myself included, thats why I started this post.I am a believer in 2 sides to every story and multiple amswers to any question..it's what keep's us learning. On a diffrent note .holt S@#t am I the only one who thinks the guy on that link obviousley didn't do any research..I mean I've been looking at these spkrs for only a month and can see from the box and the spkr it self it's.Everything I buy is buyer beware to me.When i was a young apprentice in the kitchen,I had a chef tell me cook with your ball's.Meaning if something doesnt feel right it is'nt.This is a rule we can all live by

Just don't be a hoser and go to a B&M to demo a product then go order it online. Not only is that more environmentally destructive (as Zoomer's post above indicates) it is also ethically wrong.
well there are many successfull canadian speaker companies such as Axiom Audio that sells only online... they get their reputation from web site reviews and evaluations. so you dont absolutely need to hear somehting in a shop to know you are getting something good... sure there is a very subjective part of speaker buying but 99% of consumers would not know what to listen to.. thus B*ose is such popular crap..

Agreed zoomer. Educated purchases are more likely be satisfying. BTW, I love my Axiom system - even more than my mother in laws' B*ose system...

What do you think about it? See, as volunteers and me, as the owner we are always going to be burned either way. If we full out support the vendors, we are money hungry (note, Jordy volunteers for free). If we support just the users ,the advertisers feel abused and short changed etc etc.

The only spot I question with regards to Jordys post is when he dug up the past about Rob, his lawyers and lawsuits against the site. Not sure if I would have brought it up as it is water under the bridge. That said, if it was a silencing tactic or a threat, so what. Rob understands the game. If he has an issue let him handle it. Rob has my email and number. Rob also has my support. Rob also understands that the fear mongering ebay / online stuff has been going on for a long time. There is a solution, create a sticky.. issue resolved.

As an end user you are free to think as you please. You could like the idea that the admin staff went to bat for people like you, or, you can tell the staff theyve gone too far. I personally dont care what you or paying vendors think, I am an equal opportunity none care'r.

Ryan, I think you just described me

PS. if we feel the need to squelch free speech on CCA, be ready, it'll happen. Privately owned.

Is this your indirect threat? Dont be mean Jordy or i'm leaving?
Either way, generally staff get burned when chiming in, even when their intentions are all above board.

If you don't want to be a part of the community Jordy has built and runs, which by the way is appealing to how many thousands of members, then I am sure you will be missed. There is no expectation on Jordy to change.

You aren't a paying advertiser, doesn't count. Heck, you aren't even a site supporter. $10 bro!

If Rob or any vendor wants to cancel their promotions here, that is their call. We don't beg. This is the biggest and best car audio community for Canada, period. If someone has thin skin and is offended and wants to make a move which will affect their business, their call. I will support their decision.

This isn't the daycare center.

Well, honestly.. If i didn't chime in I would expect a suicide note from Jordy due to his lack of pleasing you... don't do it Jordy!

I am locking this thread merely to point out that I get the last say unless another admin wants to chime in. Maltese, if you have a comment, pm me direct. Thanks
