Hey was just surfing around as usual today and came across a new deck coming out from jvc.
It plays dvds as well as cd's, but the nifty thing is that is has a small built in 3" screen.

Some more specs can be found here.

Looks cool I wouldn't mind seeing on in person.

Thats pretty neat, but why on earth would they not put it in widescreen (16:9) format as most DVDs these days are being sold in that format.

I think a little more design efforts could have produced a better front-end consisting of a touch screen with voume and track switching, gaining room for the bigger LCD.

Too costly maybe, but lets do it right.

Just my thoughts, what are yours?

Yeah I agree with the screen/button placement.
I was also wondering, are there any other units with similar capabilities (new or old)?

whats teh point of a 3" lcd if it only has 1 2 volt preeout. blah jvc needs to get its act in gear. all thsi cool looking stuff with some jstu plain stuiped deficances

neat deck...not a bad idea but they are going to have to come out with a few models before they perfect it. it's go some potential...now i just gotta wait for the price to come down on it a little....

Clarion has one similar....dunno what size the screen is though....I also forget the model number...it's the one that looks kinda cheesy IMO
