MEI - Mansoor Electonics Incorporated - another word for pooh.
Yamaha ceased car audio in 1992 if memory is right, too bad they had some kick a$$ gear. i would also probably pass on the Alpine, if it is the 7513 - 7517 series it was their first generation detach face plate, mondo problems with the volume controls and lighting circuits, not to mention the 7514 only had a built in amp for the front speakers, the 7513 had no pre-outs and they all sounded like a$$.

I have a bunch of old mei stuff..its alright..not the best.

I love old systems like the one your buddy has. I'd be all giddy about installing it. [img]tongue.gif[/img] Man I love old stuff.
