Do you guys think this would be a good system

Hey guys am new with car audio and I have some questions.

what is better 2 subs with less wattage or one sub with more?

whats better sealed or a ported box, whats the difference? Is it just better are flow with ported?

I also have space issues.. so i think one sub would do. I have a smaller car.

this is kinda what i was thinking of getting for the set up.

SUB- http://www.futureshop.ca/EN-CA/product/id/10098219.aspx?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0665000FS100 98219&catid%2520=

Im most likely going to be buying this stuff used.. what would be a fair deal.. the one that im looking at looks in fairly good shape.

I want this system to clear and crisp sound and I want to feel the music!

Thanks

Curtis

Curtis, I have some ides for you that might also help to improve the system as well as possibly save you some $. If this interests you drop me a line any time. I work at 6:00 tonight again so I will not be available until late tonight 12:00am PST or tomorrow morning.

Do you have someone that can build you a proper sub box? Or would you be willing to try it yourself or assemble it yourself?

Ya i dont think I wanna make my own box(not so good at woodworking). And i dont now anybody that would or could make me one..

So ya whats wrong with the bassworks box?

so whats better ported or sealed, What is the difference?

so what i was asking is does more subs mean better.. or are u better to go with less subs and more wattage, to save space and money.

Bass response is all about the box. Screw up on it and your nice new sub will not work to it's abilities. A prefab box gives prefab results. It may work ok or it may suck, the only way to know it to try it. To build one though to the requirements of the car and the sub in question, that guarantees that the results you are hoping for will be achieved.

If you are looking for more output in the lower bass regions, a ported box is indeed the way to go. You will generally get alot more output from the sub in a ported box. Most but not all subs will work in a ported box. It is usually a little bit larger of a box.

A sealed box in some cases can offer better tonal response to some people. It is a easier box to build and is smaller.

You choose the box to match the sub. More does not necessarily mean better, bigger does not necessarily mean better. It is all about your needs and how to match the system to your needs. Add me to msn, forbidden at telus dot net and message me.
