I have a denford 8250 and some zapco amps, i want to use the balanced input for them. The concerns that I have is this: I know they use a simple 6 pin minidin plug like the PS/2, my question is do I have to use the Zapco Symbilink Cables to hook them up or can I just buy those simple computer cables which has 6 pin minidin plug male to male and hook it up, will it work is the question?

Anyone with some sort of answer is greatly appreciated.

From what I have heard, any cables with the 6 pin minidin plug will work and i also have heard that I HAVE to use the Zapco Symbilink cables to make them work.

I have never seen a symbilink cable and I don't even know how the system works... (balanced line driver with a converter at the other end with RCA out I presume?)

Anyway.. if the connectors and wiring are the same, I don't see why you couldn't make your own or use something else that is identical ??

I wouldn't suggest it if you don't know what you are doing. You don't even know which wires has to go to which pin in the connector.

I wondered that myself.. logic would suggest though, that if the connectors on both ends are the same you would match em pin to pin from sides A to B...
