That's why I am getting the BIG 8. I think it will do the job.

Did you give the sub some time to break in gently? Always a good idea for a new driver, IMO....

i cant believe no one has suggested this:
there is a GREAT chance that the rattling u are hearing is just the tensel leds hitting the bottom of the cone when the sub moves up and down. this was the case every single time when i had the rattling sound comming out of the sub.
take the sub out and press down on the cone to see how close it goes down to the tensel leds.
to fix this u would have to attach the tensel leds to the cone somehow so they move up and down together.

but i could be way off.

shouldnt be a problem with the E8a, as it has tinsel leads woven into the spider.

another thing man, the cone cant hit the spider, they are attached together. if the COIL is hitting the bottom of the POLE PEICE then it would make a ticking noise, not rattling, unless the coil is completelly bouncing around when it moves WHICH is not impossible. this can happen if the coil comes undone from the cone partially or slightly (which u would not be able to see b/c of the dust cap that covers the spot where cone and coil are attached to each other). u can maybe check if this is the case by taking the sub out and shaking it fast. if u hear the coil boucing around and hitting something inside then that is your problem.

If you want it louder, go for a bigger sub, plain and simple..

well yuli the cone on the woofer is actually slapping on the spider plateau, I wathced it happen yesterday, That little 8 moves like an animal. There is no audible distortion, and the electrical power handling is fine, the problem is in the mechanicla power handling, it has too much throw and is being limited by the basket and spider plateau.
