Hey rob it's Paul from Perfect Tones,

I'm under tinted name because I forgot my password and yuli is here.

Anyways

All that is happening with your subs is you giving it too much power plain and simple

It is rated at 100-300rms in the box your using, I would say your close to 350rms so you are on the high end of that scale which is causing the sub to make physical sounds as it get pushed past its limits.

A sub woofer does not distort an amplifier distortes as you have a very clean and you not pusing your amp hardit will not distort it's just putting out too much power for the sub.

Subs bottom out most commonly when playing too low of a frequency. If you watch a sub going through a sine sweep, you will notice the cone moves more as the frequency gets lower.I can't remember what the LRx has for a subsonic filter, but get someone to set it at around 30-35hz.

Your not competing so nobody is RTAing you....crank up your subsonic filter. The human hear can't hear anything below 30Hz anyway, so why waste power trying to play the sub that low.

Sounds like you'd like to have the sub louder... which honestly I think you could have done with a 12" supersub instead of going with an 8.
