See orion's post on this. The sub is merely hitting its physical limits, and with this 8 its like hitting a brick wall.

Turn the volume down so you don't hear any noise, that is the cure. Its not a defective design, just different from what most people are used to.

Ya but almost all subs would distort if given too much power... what's so different about the e8a ???

ummm.. nope.. generally subs will distort if you have less power and turn it up too high... i've NEVER heard of subs distorting by just having "too much power"..

It's not like a have a cheap low power amp... I had a zapco, and now I have an audison ! There is more than enough power, so clipping an amp is not the issue by any means !!

^^ Why don't you believe what other people are telling you? The obviously know more about what's going on than you do.

Who says I dont believe them ? i just need someone to confirm what is going on with the sub...

Like I said before.. I went to Perfect Tones audio and showed them exactly what was going on... They told me that it is not a normal thing with the sub... they have never heard such a thing.

Rob, orion is Chris from Perfect Tones. What they are describing is not a defective problem with the sub. I think their use of the word "problem" is what has got you messed up. Its just the way that sub was designed. Every sub has a limit, be it physical or electrical. The e8A has a physical limit and you are hitting that...so just back off on the volume.
