fixable head unit?

My remote wire touched the ends of my RCAs (which were connected to the head unit) and the head unit doesn't turn on any more. I put another head unit in and it works fine, so no car fuses are blown, and the fuse on the headunit that isn't working any more isn't blown.

So, basically I accidentally applied a charge to my RCAs connected to my head unit and it won't turn on any more, anyone have any advice to save it? I can open it up and I have some basic skills with electric circuits and stuff, so I'm open to anything.

Thanks.

You can start by looking around for anything that looks physically damaged on the PCB, and everything that is attached to it. Look for any internal fusing and check for any open/burnt foils or diodes with a multimeter.

Should be a good start. If you're lucky the fix/parts should be quickly remedied.

Hope this helps!

Which Head unit. You can probably have a tech replace the power supply end which is probably burnt.
