Thanks for the ideas. I will definitely look into doing the big 3 upgrade.

I have the same car, and have done fairly well in competitions with a large stereo system.

The issue with an alternator is, the neon uses a digital alternator, which is very expensive to replace 500+ dollars.
Yes a battery upgrade to 800 cold cranking amps or higher battery does help...but the main issue the the 10 guage ground strape from the battey to the body. Upgrade this wire to 4 guage and it will solve most of your issues. Also make sure you are running 4 guage to your amps for power and ground.

I ran 2 Earthquake D-10 (5000 rms strapped) off of this set up and had no issues.
With my SQ system I ran over 1600 rms with no issues on the same set up, and beat the hell out of it...

Do the big 3 upgrade, if that does not help and you have no other issues other then just dimming lights, replacing the headlights with HID lights.

Yup, like its been said, your problem is a lack of power getting to where it should be. a cap will not help with this situation. a cap does not create power, but stores it up till you get a big bass hit, then unleashes it when the amp needs it, then recharges quickly. i say like its been said do the big 3, and if that dont help, which i am sure it will, go out and find a h/o alternator. that will solve your problems for sure, and they can be had for a decent price.
