I'm a little slow when it comes to wiring and specs of amps and such. i have a 2 channel amp and 2 dvc subs. what is the best way to wire the amp to the subs to get the most power out of the amp. A buddy of mine said to take the 2 positive speaker wires and put them in the left channel and the two negative speaker wires and put them in the right channel. is this the way to go. Like i said i'm not good with wiring so please keep explanations simple. thanks

hey man if u want to know whats best we need to know exactly what you are running. Like perhaps the make of the amp then one of us might know what loads the amp can handle. Also what make the subs are and what ohms the coils are these are very important things we'd need to know. Let us know and we can help.

Post up the model# of the amp and subs. Without seeing what you have this is all I will guess at. I will gues that you have 4 ohm dvc subs.
Think of each sub as 2 subs, thus you will have 4 in total. We need to take one sub and hook one sides positive to the other sides negative (a series circuit) leaving one positive and one negative unused. Do the same to the other speaker.
With the unused positive leads from each speaker, wire them together to the + bridged output of the amp. Repeat for the negative speaker leads and wire to the - bridged lead on the amp. This is called a parallel circuit. With this wiring configuration the amp will provide the most power output when bridged mono into a 4 ohm load.
