what a turn off, Sorry Admins
It's very different because you aren't here to market or SELL the products and you don't work for any of those companies (do you? )

Being a fan of a product is one thing... trying to make a profit by ing information about your brand on CCA's dime is another

Fyi... you'll notice that you got warning points for your post with the picture.

Rick (admincca) may let it slide but I found it to be completely tasteless. Call me an *** or a jerk and I'll be fine with it but there are certain things I don't find funny or tolerable - this is one of them.

I'm not going to get in to a debate about why I think it's unacceptable. I'll just say that I found it very tasteless and to please never do that again.

(err.. I also hit the "warn" button twice by accident and may have temp banned you.. sorry about that. it should be fixed now so just ignore the message if you got one )

Err... we allow posting of shows.

We ask that you do it in a specific format but that's mostly for users sake so they get the information they need without having to read through a bunch of crap.

We also have the event calendar which people have access to so that they can post up their shows.

There's also an IASCA/DbDrag section in the "vendors area"

Sooooooo... what is it we're doing to prevent the posting of shows?

Christ some of you people have a twisted perception of what goes on around here.

ok, I hate to defend the guy, but how is sean-ID different fron sean@ID?

admincca said that was one of the options he had in terms of a name change, and I don't see the difference, unless you're required to state you work for a company

Sounds very reasonable. Gotta pay to play here.

ID does have their own forum on their website with lots of info and advise on ID products.

Rules are rules...it's not a right to be on this board! If you want to be a member follow the rules...pretty simple!

Industry? First, let me point out that CCA isnt apart of the industry but has only been used as a tool by the industry members. From 'valid' industry people promoting their products to sell, trying to steer people to their own sites to going as far as pm'ing users to buy their products. While CCA may have industry member's on the site you have to remember that CCA is not part of the industry where we get to share the same perks as them. This is a hobbyist site, privately owned by me. This isn't some corporate site and we don't sell Car Audio related products, distribute, manufacture, thus, we aren't part of the industry. This stance has been confirmed in the past by our void members. CCA is on the outside.... *shrugs* And I am totally ok with that.

Your signature is fine. Now if every post you made was a sales pitch on the products and I found out your were a distributor, your signature would start having a different feel to myself and staff. The admins would message you and open up dialogue over your sig at which point you ultimately get to decide if you want to follow the rules or to quit the site and move on. If you behave in the manner these idiots from Image Dynamics have then shame on you but good riddance, no user is bigger than CanadianCarAudio. Sean Adler had the opportunity to change his name to anything he wanted & to help continue to help support the community. It was his choice to buck back as he clearly felt he is bigger than the site and commands an amount of respect I just don't feel he has earned or deserves, or heck, that I was prepared to give after the first few back and forth emails. If Sean Adler from Image Dynamics wanted to participate in any capacity as a vendor here on CanadianCarAudio they would have had to pay.

I find it amazing that people would argue the validity of our banning when we blatantly show you the policy which is stated a 2nd time above where a new user enters his name. Sean Adler broke the rules, he is banned because he wanted to buck back on a system of rules that he just encountered. Making multiple troll accounts is a violation of rules, also = banning.

Why would us enforcing the rules be a turn off? Clearly you liked the site to support it, do you think these rules were made yesterday?

Break a forum rule, get banned
Break the law, goto jail.

Dont like it then come to the forum. All forums have similar rules. Be glad that the admins who donate their time (I don't think they get paid here) and money to keep this site running for you[us].

However, I'm not sure if this guy was actually trying to push his products since his posts have been removed. But that is what it sounds like.
You are right about all of the above. However, Image Dynamics boy was asked to pick a new username as he broke the sign up policy which is in 2 spots. He refused and this is how we get to where we are. Every time he returns = every time he will now be banned.

Are you NOT reading the thread? Image Dynamics boy was asked to pick a new name. He refused. The issue is, my rules? <- that is like the worst card to play but sometimes you just have to.

This has been discussed time and time again.

If you don't like the system, you buck at it. And honestly you do what you feel is right. Just know that Sean Adler from Image Dynamics was breaking the rules and anyone who wants to go with him, well, hey, banning is a free subscription (don't say we don't give you anything)

Certainly was. They wanted their own section, the ability to promote their shows in the west / eastern section and to get some further promotion above and beyond what was FREE for them.

That wasnt an option, its just what I turned it to while I waited for him to decide. Whats Adler was banned, it didn't really matter anymore

I believe Adler was quick to point that out, perhaps that was part of his sales and marketing
