A friend of mine has a 2002 Golf. He changed his stock HU (monsoon) to aftermarket. He got the wiring harness and antenna adaptor. The antenna adaptor isnt aplified and gives very bad signal.

On the other hand my 2000 Jetta with non monsoon stock stereo (back when I had aftermarket HU) had an amplified antenna.

Question is... is there amplified antenna for 2000+ originally monsoon equipped VWs ? For those who will ask what the diff is... its the plugs that plug into stock antenna system.

That could be it... althou many shops claim such thing doesnt exist. I will let him know to try to get one of those.
