I could write a few paragraphs on this.. but Dave and Tyler hit the nail on the head already.. and I agree 100% with both of them.

Talking

All of a sudden I feel vindicated...

I have been wandering in and out of car audio stores all over Southern Ontario for the last 30 years or so. One of the things I look for is a comfort level in the store. By that I mean the owner or manager, staff and customers all seem to be relaxed about the "biz" of car audio. It's not enough for me to know that the people in the store know their stuff, I want to be able to talk to them without being made to feel either stupid or like an intruder. There have only been 3 or 4 places over that length of time that have managed to do that, and they have prospered because of it...

I have given lots of my friends the address for Radioactive, and I have never heard any bad feedback from any of them.

Hi guys,

Here's my .02$ on the topic. I've dealt with Kaption amps before. Everything was great at first but in about 4 days the quality deteriorated dramatically. Noises, weird echos, plain sounds drops. First thing I did was calling Kaption for support - omg I can't imagine the least helpful people. If you can help it - go look for speakers and amps somewhere else.

Right now I'm in the market for a total overhaul of my car audio - who knows, maybe I find the true #1 Canada sound system manufacturer!

I can't beleive I'm responding to a thread from '03, but what the heck; it's got new wheels. . .

Tried to find stuff on Kaption - a dealer was pushing their amps a month ago.
Couldn't find much at all and wasn't interested in taking a chance. Bought JL instead.

As for shops - I wind up walking out of most for the reason already stated by someone. . .I just don't feel comfortable there; usually for one of two reasons: I get that in such a business, many people with no plans to spend money come by and then leave. . .maybe that's why often I go into a shop and am totally ignored. But I've actually got cash, and am comfortable spending it in a shop that gives a crap about customer service. The other reason is that though I am not as knowledgeable as most on this forum, I have a brain and when someone tries to sell me an amp that will deliver the 1000wRMS I need, but only at .5 ohms, which my subs shouldn't be doing, that says to me either the sales guy is a ****, or he just thinks I am, and is trying to unload some stock.
