Looking In Buying The Best Sub Woofer Ever: Whats The BEst Help
#21
Well ok if you want to run 2500 wrms you can run 4 x Orion HP12D4 which are a great sounding and a very capable SPL driver. Or 4 of the new Clarion PXW12 in dual 4 or dual 2 ohm setup. Both options handle 500Wrms each so to supply them with 625wrms would be fine. Here is the two links:

Clarion

Now everyone likes what they sell or grew up on but these are about the best sounding drivers I have heard and carry. Next to the Max Caliber now if I can still get stock they sound amazing and handle way more power then rated for. Other then that the powerbass L12D that would be my next choice. But Im sure you will get tons of suggestions. In the end it usually breaks down to what you can afford and what your personal preference is. eg looks, price, size and so on. Hope this helps.
PS if you are only wanting to goto two 12" subs while still using 2000-2500Wrms check these out.

if i may step back and mention this:
why so much focus on a subwoofer? in my opinion, that *should* be the least of your concerns. the difference between a good sub stage and bad sub stage is much less than the difference between a good front stage and a bad front stage. focus on the areas that will be most noticed.
aside from that, the JL Audio W6V2 and the Image Dynamics IDQ10's are fantastic subs that i just recently had the chance to listen to while in Vegas. they are of that rare breed where it is not simply a feeling or being loud, but they have a sense of musicality and tonal accuracy as well.

The new XXX is over $1000 in the US, I would be scared to see what it retails for in Canada. Based on the performance of the old XXX though, it will be worth the price. Never heard the new one personally, but based on the performance of the old one, I think the new one might be the ultimate daily driving SPL/SQ sub not to mention it looks awesome.
If you want a little more on the SPL side, but will still work for daily:
DD9500/9900 or if you can afford it, DD99Z series
Atomic APX or APXX
RE MT (mine didn't sound too great for daily, but not as bad as some)
Team RF subs
Cactus Sounds (not sure on model #s)
T3 TSS/TSNS
The subs listed above will (in most cases) not sound as good as the W7/typeX but they will be louder for sure and will take more power.

I just got the JL w6v2 and must say I'm very happy with the SQ level on it, for only running off of a 250/1 amp it plays very well. Although I'm very curious as to what doubling the sub system would do, amp/sub.
