I'd concentrate more on that amp than the sub right now. Subs on ebay are a dime a dozen.

Actually, check out the classifieds section of this site. There's a guy selling Alpine amps and Type R subs - check to see how much he's asking for them.

Are you on crack kid, buy from mach5 audio, this guy is key !

420 $ got me a 15" mach 5, amp , material for box, wire kit, boom. thats budgeting man.. stay away from ebay, you think your getting a good deal, but not always, and NO WARRANTY, even if the seller says their one through him, it'll cost you to ship it back to him and to get it back to yourself and go through duties, etc all over again.. not worth it on big stuff, smaller is key on ebay.. but then, what do I know. I think staying in canada on ley components is the right thing to do, but buying wires and little things from the u.s. is better, cuz you pay minimal fees on shipping and duties.

Anyways, Mark has excellent customer service, (as you can tell already) and doesn't try and sell you stuff you need, until a guy like me pops in lol.
For that small of car, I'd hit up a 70 $ sub from mark and call it a day, then spend more money on an amp , which is where you REALLY want quality (maw's are already quality so thats out of the question)

I'll tell you what I got for $400,

1x 12" Audiobahn aw1200q (not the greatest but hits damn hard), in a ported box - $100 from an RFD member
1x Pioneer x972 400wrms from a member of CCA - $150
1x 8 gauge wire kit - $50
Installation - $60

Total: $360

Like I said, Sub isn't the best but it hits hard in a hatch. I've recieved a few compliments and even more complaints. Btw, i'm the one who was talking to you through PM on RFD

edit: I also agree with the above, grab a Mach5 if you can. I originally suggested a DD but its evident thats outside your budget.

The DD3500 series may be out of the price range but the 2500 series is definitely not. While it may only be listed as capable of 600w rms, it will infact handle twice that amount on a regular basis and is a great match to your amp and budget.
