Ok lets get things straight here. To my knowledge no one in Canada can buy direct from RE everyone that has tried has been given my information. As for online sales yes there are some US based online sites but that is changing this year. As will US shops selling to Canadian customers. Online sales of RE Audio is prohibited in Canada. and Finally anyone wishing to sell RE Audio in Canada must buy through Audio Options of Canada. No shop will be given rights to sell within Canada by RE Audio no matter how much they wish to purchase they will only get my information.
Thank you
Thank you
MR2NR, you seem to be taking this whole online business thing very personally. I am not trying to put up an unethical website by undercutting the brick and mortar establishments. I respect what you guys do, and the prices you need to pay in order to stay afloat. But seriously, If someone has the knowledge about car audio and is not looking to spend an inflated rate for a set of speakers and he knows enough about to install himself, why pay the premium?
There are always people who will be loyal to the brick and mortar establishments, be it because of the customer service, or just the fact that you know they are legit. There are also the standalone types, who know what they want, and how to work with it. That is the crowd my website caters to.
Everyone gets in a big mess about how they don't want products being "d" to consumers. Is it just a fear of a minority that they won't have the unique audio equipment they once did if everyone has it? I don't understand the problem honestly. If a business sells more, it can invest more in its products.
This is just me ranting, so feel free to poke holes in my arguments

^^don't be discouraged, MR2NR has been angry for a long time... I think he needs a big hug, and a Teddy bear. Anyway, your company will be catering to guys like me, we number in the millions, so don't be shy.

good idea... but try for some brands that are attainable.

Like I said before High End - Low end, all stuff ends up on the net.
If you have the financial backing to stock $15K of inventory in each line that you carry and you are buying it from the same distributor as I am AND you have somehow created a crinkle in the dealer agreement that prohibits online sales, then that opens up all B&M store as well as big box stores to do the exact same thing as what you are wanting to do. Do you really want to go toe to toe with someone like FS. Do you think that FS also has not thought of the same thing and hit the same roadblocks?
Angry, no, when it comes to being smart about defending my business, yes.

i know i'm late to the party, but i just wanted to mention a couple things:
it would be great to be a dealer for Adire, RE, ID, SS, Ascendant Audio, etc, etc. but most of these companies will not authorize online sales. RE allows www.visionaryaudio.com to do so because marshall is a close friend of david's, and even marshall cannot list prices on his website, nor can he sell to anyone who is near a dealer. Adire allows www.acoustic-visions.com because kyle has been a dealer for them a long time. they also allow www.creativesound.ca to advertize prices because they are one of the only (possibly the only) authorized canadian dealer. adire doesn't sell direct and won't allow their dealers to advertise online either. hell, they won't even be making their own subs for too much longer (intending to switch to OEM only at some point).
the best suggestion i can make is to pick brands that the other shops in your area don't sell already. being a new business, you need to provide new product. you will have a hard time moving product against companies like future shop if you're carrying the same stuff as them and they can afford to have lower prices because they're a big box.
i think you need to be sure to get some mainstream brands to draw in the kids, have some low budget stuff, and have some stuff for the audiophile crowd. get all the markets covered
