Typical passives that come with comp sets Xover (HP) the tweeters at approx. 2.5-3Khz, if you are running them active you need to get up to the same range. Not many decks will go that high, you may need to find an outboard active Xover with a range selection switch and use it to feed the amp channels for the tweets......

Honestly, this is IMO still the best way to set gains on any street system.

Aside from matching left to right, setting gains with a multimeter is one step short of completely pointless.

This is true. But no 2 rails are going to put out the exact same power. The milti meter is really just to match up the power coming out of each rail. That way you can blow both speakers instead of one lol.

That would probably be the best way to do it but I would rather spend the $7.95 on old school multi meter that the $300+ for a oscilloscope lol...
