Everyone forgot to mention the girl that gets a basic starter in a sunfire without power locks and gets so pissed off because lock/unlock doesn't work off the remote for the $200 install that she bitches until manaement gives her all the money back and takes it out.
I typically go the "Are you retarded route"

I finally got a Toyota dealership to admit to there problem.
Customer / friend has a MR2 right hand drive, straight from Japan.
I put a alarm/starter in it, door locks manual transmision the whole works.
Works perfectly fine, then a coiuple months later he goes to Toyota for a servicing.....a basic oil change. Then for some reason after the oil change the car will not start. Right away the dealer ship says it is my fault. This I know is not true. They did there normal dealerhip stuff and want the whole thing removed and put back to original. I finally get mad and call up the service manager and have a little chat. Came to an agreance that if I remove this and the problem still is there that the will pay me for my time...... needless to say that i removed it and guess what the car still won't start. Finaly Toyota finds out that while doing the oil change the mechanic broke some main wires going toi the ecm in the trunk of the car. Problem fixed.
So lets get the break down
2 call out charges (1 after hours)
1 full removal (after hours)
1 full re-install
1 completely new Harness
Getting the dealership to bow down (PRICELESS)

Our installer's car went to the dealership to get some insurance repairs done.
He gets it back and whenever he turns his high beams on, the fuse blows. Dealership blames it on the starter/alarm that he installed....
uhm... huh!?!
OK, so he takes it into the shop, tests it out, and sees that it must be a pinched wire... he pokes around for 30 minutes and sees a wire wrapped around a bolt and shorting out...
He took pictures and told the dealership to **** off.
Complete idiots - of course the starter/alarm is making his high beams fuse blow...

Very simple way to deal with dealership...
Eg:
Customer came in with a honda that had some problems with the dome light not working and the oem clock not working.....took it to Honda and was billed 70.00 to find out that there was a problem with the dome light/clock circut. They claimed that when we install the alarm a year ago that this was the cause of the issue and that they would need a few hours to fix the problem.
Customer came to us, I charged her 25.00 to pull out the dime that was inside the cig lighter and replaced the blown fuse......the customer FREEAKED, not on us but Honda and she got her money back.
You need to see it from the customer eyes, all they know is their car is not working and they want it fix, don't take it personally. We tell customers we have no issues in looking at the car for them and explain the warranty to them. Break it all doen and give them a bill and the leave with the car fix, you see most of would spend the time to FIX the problem when we bill out labour, not bill for the obvious and then bill again to fix the car
